There’s a distinctly 80’s vibe to the Lowrider S. Two into two exhausts flank the lower right hand side of the bike, providing straight edges that accentuate the flowing look perfectly. Styling wise, Lowrider S is a funky looking thing. In short, a Softail Harley looks like it has a hard tail because you can’t see any rear suspension when in actual fact, there’s a monoshoc lurking underneath whichever of the eleven softail styles catches your eye. This new Lowrider S bolsters the already stacked Softail range, which was massively updated for 2018. Offering a factory custom style that has a low seat, narrow, easy to reach bars and twin front discs. It sticks to the original 1977 Lowrider style, though. ![]() Obviously there’s more to it than that and for 2020, Harley Davidson has reworked the Lowrider S substantially. Which says a lot because Todd doesn’t say that much. A dude who worked at Todd’s Cycle part-time while trying to get his own gig, The Speed Merchant, off the ground. And he wasn’t some roided-out doucher toting a gallon jug of electrolytes in between sets at the gym. He damn sure didn’t look like the Paul Bunyan doppelgänger from the paper towel roll. To this day, I still don’t have a clue how Brandon Holstein, from The Speed Merchant, earned that nickname. The Speed Merchant’s Brandon Holstein evolved a 2017 Harley-Davidson Low Rider S into this road-ripping performance custom for the 2018 Hot Bike Tour.
